That's it! Our very professional and beautiful logo. Don't ask, as neither of us knows how we actually got to this. We started with such neat things and then eventually we ended up with a blob-bird.
What we also did today was ask questions to our stutor and some students who do Game Design. This was pretty useful, actually, to have someone to discuss things with. We were told things about actually producing the game, the tools that would be most useful to do so. Then we were told some things about concepting, design and everything really. I didn't document it, which I really should've, but I guess I'm doing that now.
Our stutor told us about Unity and Construct 2, as we were quite confused about it. Construct 2 doesn't count for production, merely for design, so we needed to know how that would work out for the project members doing production. Therefore our stutor recommended Unity instead, which also forces you to learn coding, but it's easier than just coding, I guess. He also explained how the program worked, partly, with 3D and stuff, but I can't quite remember what exactly he said as I didn't bother listening too much, seeing as I'm doing the visual part rather than the coding part.
He also told us about the Game Design Document we're supposed to make and told us a great resource for help was Chris Taylor's GDD. Then he told us to get lots of consults to make the most out of everything and get taught everything properly, and also so teachers know what we're doing which is a big help for your assessment.
The Game Design students told us that we should first make a concept and then start doing research instead of the other way around, because then we could ask our target group questions about our concept and improve it afterwards, in accordance to their feedback.
I also agreed on helping one of the project members with the audio, so he doesn't have to do that alone. Apart from that we edited the research plan, and I started on the group document in which we record everything we do and learn. It's.. Basically like this blog, but for the whole project group instead and with images that actually work. And also it's for a different competency, namely Multidisciplinary Teamwork.
I started really working on my growth portfolio now too, which is apparently really a lot of work. Though I've mainly been busy with the layout, and since I'm not all that familiar with InDesign that's still kind of frustrating every now and then. But I've made a start, and it's looking pretty neat in my opinion :).
To fix the images, I'll have to upload all of them again, so I'll do that when I have the time.
For now, I'll quit everything and go to bed! I'll be back tomorrow! :)
